Join us for youth group Wednesdays at 7:00pm at Brooksville Wesleyan Church! Middle school and high school students are both welcome (grades 6-12).

Our youth group has a lot of fun together, but most importantly we grow in our relationship with God. Here are some of the things we do:

  • Music
  • Games
  • Learn the Bible
  • Events and activities throughout the year
  • Mission trips
  • Summer youth camp

My name is Shannon McGrady, and I’m the youth pastor at Brooksville Wesleyan Church. Thanks for your interest in the youth ministry at Brooksville Wesleyan Church. Our hope and goal is to see teens and their families experience the life changing hope and holiness of Jesus. Our teens face many obstacles and temptations as they try and navigate through life. Our hope is that we can provide students with a solid biblical foundation so that they will be able to live for Jesus in a culture that doesn’t always share the same values. In addition to a solid biblical foundation, we want to help equip our teens for life after school. This includes relational skills, leadership skills, and practical life skills. Here are seven words we use to shape the youth ministry at Brooksville Wesleyan Church.

Our teaching is based on the Bible. We want teens to develop daily habits of reading the Bible. We also want teens to feel comfortable navigating the Bible for themselves. We must help our teens experience how the Bible is relevant to their lives and tells the story of God.

We want people to feel welcome. We often share meals together and play games that encourage people to get to know one another.

We encourage teens through listening to them. We want our teens to know that there are people who care for them. We have a positive atmosphere and strive to build one another up.

We want our teens to develop skills that will help them serve God and others better. We make sure that our Bible lessons are practical and share how we can apply the Bible to our lives.

We want the youth group to be a place where teens can make friends and feel safe. We also want teens to develop relationships with other members of the church so they can realize that they are a part of the church.

Following Jesus is an adventure and you never know what lies ahead, but we do know that Jesus is faithful and trustworthy. When we respond to Jesus’ call to follow him, we sign up for adventure.

Life can be so complex at times. We seek simplicity. We want to make friends, grow in our relationship with Jesus and serve others.
